Mathematics Receives $1.6 M for endowed Professorship

The Department of Mathematics recently received a $1.6 million endowment from the estate of Dr. Charles Saltzer, a former professor of mathematics and computer and information science at OSU. The $1.6 million gift will support the newly created Dr. Charles Saltzer

Professorship in Mathematics for a distinguished visiting faculty member or a new faculty member in the Mathematics Department.

Commenting on the endowment, Mathematics Department Chair David Goss said, "The Department of Mathematics is deeply touched by the generosity of our departed colleague Charles Saltzer. We appreciate his great generosity and we are determined to put his gift to the best possible  use for our department."
