Contributing to
THE ROSS MATHEMATICS PROGRAM

Celebrating Fifty Years:   1957 - 2007

Reunion LogoRunning the Ross Program is expensive.

It's great to report that the Program's future survival seems relatively secure. That survival is due to our on-going partnership with the Clay Mathematics Institute, and by contributions from the Ohio State University. Those two partnerships support most of the expenses for the instructors, counselors, and JCs.

However, all scholarships for students, and all expenses for mathematical visitors, must be paid from other sources.

The Program would be damaged if we had to cut back on scholarships, admitting only those students who can afford the full cost (currently $2500). The American Mathematics Society's Epsilon Fund provides significant help, but most scholarships come from contributions by generous alumni.

We usually offer one or two short-courses each summer, along with some special colloquium-style lectures. These courses and lectures have been popular, especially since they are typically offered by alumni of the Program who live in the dorm and interact with the kids during their visits. Each visit entails travel and per diem expenses.

Opportunity for you to help

We are asking Ross alumni to contribute to the  Arnold Ross Memorial Fund.

Your support of this effort is important, and will be greatly appreciated.

In addition to paying for scholarships and visitors, we hope to build up an endowment fund that will ensure the future prosperity of the program even if our major contributors decide to decrease their support.

All contributions to this tax-deductible fund are administered directly by the Program organizers here at Ohio State, with no "indirect costs" or hidden taxes. These contributions will provide a working memorial to Arnold Ross, honoring his long career in mathematics and large influence on mathematics education in the United States.

Contributions can be made online at OSU giving, (for the "Ross Mathematics Program Scholarship Fund"). Alternatively, you can send a check (made out to "Ross Program" or "Arnold Ross Fund"), to
