Note: The following programs connect using sFTP, a secure replacement for FTP. To connect to our system, use the hostname math.ohio-state.edu, not ftp.math.ohio-state.edu.

  • Fugu (free, OS X only)
  • Transmit ($25, OS X only)

• PC (running Microsoft Windows)
  • SSH Secure Shell (recommended, free to OSU students and staff, use Secure File Transfer program to transfer files)
  • F-Secure SSH

• • OpenSSH (includes sftp for a secure ftp session and scp for secure remote copying, terminal based)
  • gFTP - a graphical FTP program that can work over ssh
