Ahmet Guloglu (Ph.D., 2005) began work in Autumn 2005 as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Missouri-Columbia. (9/27/05)

Eliade Micu (Ph.D., 2005) is now employed by Nationwide Insurance. (9/27/05)
Matt McMullen (M.S., 2003) has a fulltime position as a visiting instructor at Otterbein College for the 2005-06 academic year.
The winners of the Department of Mathematics fifth annual GTA Teaching Excellence Award for the 2004-05 academic
year are Chris McClain, Martin Nikolov, and Xueying Wang. In addition, Andy Gard, Kyle Joecken, and Vaidy Sivaraman
have been recognized for their excellence as first-year teachers. (6/29/05)

Cindy Bernlohr (M.A., 1985) was one of twelve OSU employees to receive the Distinguished Staff Award for 2005. She was recognized
for her efforts in staffing non-faculty teaching assignments in the Mathematics Department and providing ongoing support of graduate students and TAs. (6/29/05)
Gheorghe Craciun (Ph.D., 2002; current post-doc in MBI) has been hired into a tenure-track
position at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, beginning in Autumn 2005. (4/29/05)
Roxana Alexandridis (current GTA from Statistics) will be a post-doctorate researcher in
Statistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, beginning in Autumn 2005. (4/29/05)
Jin Wang (Ph.D., 2004) has been hired as an assistant research professor at Duke University,
beginning in Autumn 2005. This is a three-year position in Durham, North Carolina. (4/29/05)
Manuel Lladser (Ph.D., 2003) has received an assistant professorship in applied mathematics
at the University of Colorado (at Boulder), beginning in Autumn 2005. He is currently a post-doctorate

Michael Meagher (current GTA from mathematics education) will begin his career as an assistant
professor of mathematics education at Brooklyn College (CUNY-Brooklyn) in New York beginning in Autumn

Bob Klein (M.S.. 2000; Ph.D., 2003, in math education) has accepted a tenure-track position in
the mathematics department at Ohio University, beginning in Autumn 2005. (4/29/05)
Jon Stadler (Ph.D., 1997) is currently chair of the Mathematics Department at Capital University
in Bexley OH. He and his wife, Ellen (M.A. 1996), have three children and live in Westerville. (4/29/05)
Susan Baniak Thompson (M.A., 1983; Ph.D., 1998, in math education) is currently chair of the Mathematics
Department at Otterbein College in Westerville OH. (4/29/05)
Dan Boros (Ph.D., 2003) is an assistant professor at Otterbein College in Westerville OH. In April 2005,
Dan won a free trip to the NCAA Basketball Finals in St. Louis MO, followed by a trip to New York City to shoot
a basketball for $1,000,000. (Dan did not win the money, but he enjoyed the visits, basketball games and all the
new experiences.) Dan currently lives in Delaware OH. (4/29/05)
