Math 568:
Introductory Linear Algebra I

Summer 2009

Instructor: Andrzej Derdzinski

GENERAL INFORMATION

In Math 568 we are using Poole’s book  Linear Algebra: A Modern Introduction (2nd edition).

On the page   http://www.math.ohio-state.edu/~andrzej/courses/568/568.html   you will find a link to the Math 568 syllabus.

In the syllabus, each week of the quarter has, among its assigned homework, three homework problem numbers placed in brackets ([...]). These are the problems that have to be turned in for credit. Every Monday I will collect in class the solutions of the three “bracketed” problems assigned in the preceding week. The only exception is the week of September 28th, in which homework will be collected on Wednesday (Sept. 30th).

Homework problems which are not in brackets should not be turned in.

There will be two midterms (each consisting of four 25-point problems) and a final exam, with six problems (each worth 33 or 34 points). Partial credit will be given wherever appropriate.
