COURSE OBJECTIVES
To introduce students to the real world of actuarial practice and to improve their communication skills. This course will serve as the third writing courses for the acturial science major.
Mostly the classes will be presentations by visiting actuaries on topics drawn from their fields of expertise. Students will also give oral presentations on selected topics in actuarial science.
WRITING ASSIGNMENTS
Students are expected to complete two writing assignments and a book review. See Assignments for detail.
GRADE
The course grade is based on student's paticipation, performance, and the writing assignments.
