Since the progression is counterclockwise, start by having the number 1's trade (to improper formation) and circle 1/4 to the right, putting the number one couple at the top of the "men's line".

A2 (8) Women chain
(8) 1/2 promenade
B1 (8) Slant left: Right and left through

History

This dance was written in February, 2000 to fulfill a request by Kate, a fellow dancer and a good personal friend.  Kate, who is still both alive and dancing, supplied the rather ominous-sounding title.  Apart from that cryptic note, let it suffice to say that it's a long story.
