Ed is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics from Columbus State Community College and is currently Associate Director of Teachers Teaching with Technology TM College Short Course Program, and Director of the Ohio Early College Mathematics Placement Testing (EMPT) Program.

Ed has taught mathematics at the college level for 34 years and 5 years at the high school level. He currently teaches 2-3 short courses per year for the Teachers Teaching with Technology (T3) College Short Course Program, and (1-2) course(s) per year at The Ohio State University. Ed has been awarded the 2004 AMATYC Presidential Award, 1997 OhioMATYC "Distinguished Service Award", the "Exemplary Mathematics Teaching Award" from the Central Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (COCTM), and the "Distinguished Teaching Award" and "Meritorious Service Award" from Columbus State Community College. He also served on the writing team for the 1995 AMATYC Crossroads in Mathematics Standards, and is a section writer for the 2006 AMATYC Crossroads Re-visited Standards. He is a past-president of COCTM and past-president of the Ohio Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges (OhioMATYC).
Ed has authored over 50 publications in professional journals or by commercial publishers. He has given over 200 presentations at state, national, and international conferences. He has written a function based-graphing calculator-active intermediate mathematics textbook and a modeling/exploration manual for beginning algebra through precalculus.
