HOMEWORK:
Homework will be assigned in class and collected on due date.
Late homework will not be accepted. Roughly one quarter of
homework problems
will be graded; the rest will be checked for completeness. Graded problems
count 1/2 of a point each, others 1/6 of a point each.
EXAMS:
There will be two midterm exams in class and a comprehensive final exam.
The midterm exams will be on Monday, October 19 and Monday, November 16.
The final exam will on Tuesday, December 8 from 9:30am to 11:18am, following the
university final exam schedule.
MAKE-UP POLICY:
There will be no make-up for midterm exams.
For excused absences, the grade of a missed midterm exam will be a weighted
average of subsequent exam grades (including that of the final).
Unexcused absences count as zero. A make-up for the final exam will be given
only for excused absence.
Documentation of reasons for absence must be obtained before the exam.
GRADING:
Homework = 15%; Midterm Exams = 50%; Final Exam = 35%.
A = 93-100%, A- = 89-92%,
B+ = 85-88%, B = 81-84%, B- = 77-80%,
C+ = 73-76%, C = 69-72%, C- = 65-68%,
D+ = 61-64%, D = 55-60%,
E = 0-54%.
