Description: This course is devoted mostly to the study of number systems and generalizations such as rings and polynomials. The plan is to follow the textbook fairly closely.
Grading: Weekly Homework (40%) + Midterm 1 (15%) + Midterm 2 (15%) + Final exam (30%).
Midterm 1: January 25 (Wednesday), in class. The exam covers everything discussed until Jan. 18 lecture (inclusive), including homework. Solutions.
Midterm 2: February 22 (Wednesday), in class. The exam covers everything discussed until February 15 (inclusive), including homeworks. Solutions.
