General Information

The conference is supported in part by National Science Foundation and the MRI (Math Research Institute of OSU).

Accommodations, Registration etc.:

There is no registration fee. However, it would be very helpful for the organizers to know in advance how many people would be attending the workshop. Therefore, if you are planning on attending the workshop, please send an e-mail to joshua@math.ohio-state.edu as soon as possible.

There are a block of rooms reserved for the conference at the University Plaza Hotel, 3110 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43202. Tel (toll free in the US):1-877-677-5292, (also) 614-267-7461; fax: 614-267-3978. For reservations mention The Workshop on Algebraic Cycles: price $99 per room. (If you are overseas, we suggest faxing your reservation to the hotel.) This is a special rate available only if you are part of the workshop and you will need to make the reservation with hotel by October 16, 2009.

The hotel has arranged a free shuttle van service to campus in the mornings and from campus at the end of talks each day. (The van times are listed above.) This is in addition to a good shuttle service to and from the airport. (The walking distance from the hotel to the campus is about 2 miles.) Please make your reservations as early as possible so that the supply and demand of rooms at the hotel can be kept in balance.

You may also take a look at the following more or less complete list of hotels and motels in the general campus area. We have to warn you though, that the rates listed there may or may not be the same as what you may be able to obtain.

We will be able to provide support towards accomodation for an extremely limited number of graduate students and post docs. There are several options for lunch on High Street, "Brennans" which provide sandwiches or some Chinese restaurants on High Street. Most other places on campus will likely be closed on weekends.

Parking:

You can park in the OSU stadium lot (at Cannon Dr. and Woody Hayes Dr.) for free. Parking closer may result in a ticket.

From the stadium walk east past the bookstore and cross Neil Ave to 18th Ave, MW and EA will be on your right.
