Mathematics and Statistics Learning Center.
Please pay them a visit; they are there to serve you!

Text

The text for the course is Calculus, 8th ed., by Varberg, Purcell, and Rigdon, Second OSU Customized Edition.

Syllabus

The Syllabus for this course can be found here.

Homework and Quizzes

Truly, the only way to learn mathematics is by doing problems. The homework is your chance to do this. I will assign problems to go with every section of the text. I will put the problems on the board at the beginning of each lecture and you can also find them by clicking on the section number in the course calendar below and looking in the "Description" field.

You will have quizzes at the beginning of class evey Thursday in your recitation section. The quiz will be timed to ten minutes, and the problems will be taken from the previous week's homework. The problems on the quiz will be taken directly from the homework problems, so if you know how to do all the homework problems, you should do well on the quiz.

Exams

The exams will be on the following dates. Please try to resolve any conflicts as soon as possible.
Exam 1: Oct. 18
Exam 2: Nov. 15
Final Exam: Dec. 6, 11:30

Grading

You will be assigned a grade based on your work as follows.
Quizzes: 20%
Exam 1: 25%
Exam 2: 25%
Final Exam: 30%
