Topics for the week of July 7: Sequences and Series of Real Numbers
Continued (Berkeley 1.3, Kaczor and Nowak I, chapter 2 and 3. Work on
as many of these as you can (We won't do any problems from secion 2.3).
Problem set 3 due Wednesday, July 16
On Monday, July 7, I did problems 2.2.1, 2.2.8, 2.2.29, 2.2.10, and
2.2.44 from Kaczor and Nowak I.
On Tuesday, July 8, I did part of the Spring 97 Qualifying exam.
On Wednesday, July 9, I finished the Spring 97 exam (solutions) and did
problem 2.5.9 from Kaczor and Nowak I.
On Friday, July 11, I did problems 2.5.3, 2.5.4a, 2.5.12, 3.1.2,
3.1.6, 3.1.8, 3.1.9, (suggested you look at 3.1.29), and
3.1.36.
Next Monday, July 14, we'll work on convergence of series (Kaczor and
Nowak chapter 3.2, 3.3).
